Former United Overseas Bank’s senior vice-president of the fintech, ecosystem and innovation division Pauline Sim has joined Singapore fintech start-up Sleek as the new head of fintech and strategic partnerships.

In her new role, Sim will overlook the development of financial services and digital solutions at Sleek. Through its A.I.-driven customer platform and automations, Sim will be leading the company’s new business verticals expansion projects.

The role will also build upon the ease and simplicity that Sleek’s services and platforms have established to ensure that business owners can focus on what matters most: their business, says the startup.

Sim started her banking career serving the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) segment of the bank, covering all aspects of banking and financing requirements that SMEs have in UOB and Standard Chartered Bank.

In 2015, she was part of the team that set up The FinLab, a joint venture between UOB and SGInnovate, to accelerate fintech startups from all over the world, and subsequently helping SMEs to digitalize and innovate with adoption of tech solutions.

Sleek’s co-founder and CEO, Julien Labruyere, said, “Her credentials and wealth of experience in the SMEs and start-up landscape will prove to be an invaluable addition to Sleek’s goals.”

Sim was elected into the executive committee of Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) in 2018-2019 and served as the lead for Women in FinTech subcommittee during that time.
